Paddy Power Capitalise On Brexit Uncertainty

Paddy Power are no strangers to controversy, often capitalising on current events. The PR team at Paddy Power have jumped on the Brexit bandwagon and launched their latest satirical video, ‘Brexit Bunker’, starring former football hero Eric Cantona.

The promotion at Paddy Power is launched on the back of the uncertainty of UK leaving Europe. Paddy Power has launched their very own Brexit escape in the form of the ‘Brexit Bunker’ (a sea fort hotel).To be a contender to win a stay at the sea fort hotel, customers have to give reasons as to why they deserve to stay in the Brexit Bunker, tagging their answer on PP Social Media or by email. The ‘most deserving’ candidate will win a two-night stay at the Sea Fort with food, travel and PP merchandise thrown in.

‘Escape The Carnage’

A press release from PP said, “ As uncertainty and debate rages, we’ve released a video of one of footballs greatest European imports, encouraging Britain to make an exit of their own from Brexit. That’s because we have created a Brexit Bunker, somewhere between the UK and France, to escape the carnage.”Paddy Power are used to capitalising on current events, often causing controversy along the way, the PR team have used these events to their advantage, with profits rising by 7% in the wake of the promotions being aired.
