Genesis Global To Appeal Against UKGC Interim Suspension Of Its License

Earlier on this week, it was reported the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) had temporarily suspended Genesis Global’s UK license while they investigate ‘undisclosed’ compliance issues, and said the operator was ‘unsuitable to carry out licensed activities’.Genesis Global, who are responsible for eleven online casino platforms including Casino Cruise, Vegas Hero, Kassu, Pelaa can no longer accept UK players while UKGC investigations continue.

Legal Advice Taken

Yesterday, a member of Genesis management team made a statement it had ‘taken legal advice’ to ‘vigorously appeal’ the actions of the UKGC and the actions of the regulator were disproportionate and inconsistent with previous regulatory enforcements. The statement went on to say “ Genesis has expressed their extreme level of disappointment with this determination and outcome and is therefore firmly committed to complying with the UKGC’s extensive range of regulations. “ To our loyal and trusting stakeholders; in particular our dedicated customers, team, suppliers and others we assure you that it is our business as usual in all other jurisdictions in which the company operates and we appreciate your continued support during these challenging times.”Earlier on in July Genesis underwent a routine of compliance assessment carried out by the UKGC, adding that previous reviews had not uncovered any adverse materials. Nevertheless, the regulator made the decision to suspend the license until further reviews were complete.
