Most of you will remember the board game Snakes and Ladders right? Reel Kingdom in partnership with Pragmatic Play have released Snakes and Ladders Megadice which has a top prize of 5,300x the bet.

About Snakes and Ladders Megadice

The game is played across a 5×3 grid with 10 winning ways. Bets range from 20p up to £100 per spin on this highly volatile slot with an above average RTP of 96.68%.The retro style design shows the reels sitting between two large mounds of rocks with trees in the background. Present on the reels are the low paying 10- Ace royals in a pixelated font, a banana, a snake, ladders and the gorilla, the latter is worth 50x for 5 on a payline. The wild is the dice and has multipliers worth up to 3x attached and 5 on a payline awards a whopping 500x your stake.

Gameplay

The dice are central to the game. Above the reels is a snake containing 11 sections, each time the dice lands the number of the dots shown on the dice fills up sections of the snake. Once all the sections are complete the Bonus Round triggers. If you manage to complete the 4th section of the snake exactly, this awards between 2-5 extra rolls which are added to the total in the bonus round. You get 12 rolls of the dice, and the feature can be retriggered up to a maximum of 17 times. If you overfill the snake, these excesses are added to the section for the next bonus game. You can activate the bonus round by landing 3, 4 or 5 bonus snake symbols awarding 12, 14 or 16 rolls of the dice .The bonus round is played on a snakes and ladders board, you roll the dice to progress across the board. Depending on where you land you could win one of the following:Money Award- A win multiplier worth 4x-100x.Multiplier- Multiplies the amount that you have won up to this point.Snakes and Ladders- You go up the ladder and down the snake.Banana- Adds random cash values to the board and all banana symbols are removed.Skyscraper- This is hidden and is only revealed when its landed on, you then advance to a higher position on the board which is chosen randomly. The game ends when you either reach the final square or you have used all the dice rolls. If you are lucky enough to complete the board, you roll 2 dice, if they show matching numbers the bonus round is retriggered. But that’s not all, if your total win at the end of the round is less than 20x the Rage Mode triggers, the monkey then moves all the way to the top of the grid collecting all cash values and multipliers on its’ way.

Verdict

Snakes and Ladders Megadice is a solid game delivering two ways to access the bonus round. As a child, I remember the excitement of climbing the ladder and the disappointment of going down the snake, this is similar. Overall, its a fun game with the addition of the Rage Mode where a win is guaranteed.
