Greentube and Novomatic’s new release Magic Circle is a classic style slot, featuring the Hold & Spin, Club Game, a bonus wheel and a top prize of 1,000x the bet.

About Magic Circle

Optimised for play across desktop and mobile devices, Magic Circle is a 3, reel, 3 row slot with 1 payline. It’s a low to medium variance game with an RTP of 95.02% and bets ranging from 1p up to £5 per spin. The retro design takes you back to the era of classic style slots. The visuals are vibrant and bold with the reels, the paytable, a club meter and a bonus wheel filling the screen.Symbols include classic fruits like cherries, plums, strawberries, watermelons, oranges, lemons, and grapes. Then there’s the triple bars, double bars, bells, 4 leaf clovers and lucky 7’s. These can also have a red or blue star attached, but more about that later.

Gameplay

Landing 2 matching symbols on a payline in the base game results in a win. Landing 3 symbols with matching-coloured stars attached awards a mystery prize. All wins in the base can either be paid out or added to the club meter. The hold feature allows you to hold up to 2 reels for the next paid spin which increases your chances of landing a winning combination.Once you fill the Club Meter the Club Game triggers and the paylines increase to 27 winning ways. You opt to play for 5 or 10 coins per spin, only one coin is taken from your balance and the remaining coins are taken from the club meter. During this feature you need to land 3 matching symbols to form a win and the symbol values are increased. When playing the club game, you activate the Magic Circle feature by landing 3 symbols with matching-coloured stars. There’s more, by opting to play with 10 coins, any combination of stars triggers the feature, and a win is guaranteed. You start off in the centre of the magic circle and any win is paid out in addition to another value on the same level. Landing on an arrow advances you to the next level but landing on stop ends the feature. The aim of the game is to get to the top level to pocket up to 200 coins on each spin.

Verdict

Magic Circle is an unusual game and not your typical classic style of slot, but the additional features can seem a bit complicated at first glance. The top prize of 1,000x the bet is also disappointing.
