Yggdrasil Gaming have released a new fantasy themed slot called Johnan Legendarian, which resembles the story of Conan the Barbarian. Features include free spins, expanding symbols and super free spins.

Johnan Legendarian is a 5 reel 10 payline video slot which has a high variance and an RTP of 96.03%. It is playable across all devices with wagering from 10p-£50 per spin.The graphics are done in a cartoonish style and the frameless reels sit between 2 beautifully carved wooden pillars with a fierce looking Johnan on the left hand side.Symbols are the lower value 10 to Ace royals, a sword, a warthog, a bow and arrow and a dragon. The latter will pay out x200 your wager for 5 on a payline.

Gameplay

Landing 3 wizard wild/scatters on a single spin gives you 10 free spins and a regular symbol will be chosen at random to be an expanding symbol. You will need at least 3 low value royals or 2 higher value symbols to pocket a win from the expanding symbol.Landing at least another 3 scatters will reset the free spins to 10 and select another special chosen symbol. This can be repeated until all 9 symbols have been selected as special symbols.There is an extra twist with the scatter symbols. If you only land 2 on a spin, they will be added to the meter. Once the meter is full (this will need 385 pairs) you will trigger the super free spins, but instead of the free spins being reset by landing more scatter, you get an additional 10 free spins.

Verdict

I really enjoyed this slot. The design was different, and the visuals and animations were high quality, but I would have expected to see the main character featuring more in the game. The only drawback was the resetting of the free spins, but you can pocket up to x5,000 of your wager, so it worth a spin or 2.
