Playtech take you on a journey to Ancient China with their new 2021 slot release, Glorious Guardians. Features include transforming symbols, respins, scatters, wilds, 3 fixed jackpots and a top prize worth x2,000 your wager.

Slot details

Glorious Guardians is a 5 reel, 3 row video slot with 50 paylines and is playable across all devices. Wagering starts from 10p up to a whopping £500 per spin and the RTP is set at 96.49%.The reels sit above a river in front of what looks like a palace, with lush greenery around and guardian stone statues placed on either side.Symbols are 9 to Ace royals made of enamel, a white tiger, a green dragon, a tortoise, a phoenix and a gold dragon. The latter is worth x3 your wager for 5 on a payline.

Gameplay

The game offers you 2 scatters; a number scatter and a yin/yang scatter. Landing 3 scatters of any combination on a single spin will trigger the Jackpot respins. You begin with 3 respins and each further scatter that lands, resets them back to 3 and the scatters will lock into position.Once all the respins have been used up, the scatters with the numbers on them are added together giving you the same amount of free spins.  If a yin-yang symbol appears on the reels, you win either the Mini, Minor or Mega jackpot which is worth x10, x100 or x1,000 your wager respectively. You’ll then play out the free spins, and any mystery symbols that appear on the reels, transform into matching symbols. Each scatter is also added to your total number of free spins. The 9 centre positions are classed as reels with the 2 outer reels giving you a total of eleven reels. To trigger the Fortune Guardians Puzzle, you need to land a guardian symbol on the 1st and 11th reel to give you 3 respins. You need to land a minimum of 3 puzzle symbols to win a cash prize and each time you land a puzzle symbol, the respins reset to 3. If no puzzle symbol lands, 1 respin is deducted. The feature ends when you run out of spins or you have completed the 9 parts of the puzzle. Whichever puzzle symbol you have completed you will be awarded that cash value, i.e the gold dragon is worth x500 your wager.

Verdict

This is a well-designed slot and the 11 reels made it different from other slots of the same genre. It offers a good variety of features to keep you interested and certainly worth checking out.
