Playtech will finally withdraw Marvel slots this month

playtech

To be perfectly honest, we have long discussed when Playtech will finally withdraw its Marvel-themed slots from online casinos. We had heard it would be in October last year, but the deadline was bumped back to Christmas and then New Year. The latest we’ve heard—and the deadline seems pretty official this time—is the end of March.

Not Long To Go

According to our sources, if you plan on spinning the reels of Playtech’s superhero-themed Marvel Mystery Progressive Jackpot Network slot machine games, you’d better get a crack on it. This multitude of slots will soon no longer be with us. The decision stems back to 2013, when Disney snapped up Marvel and decided that they did not want “their” franchises to be a part of the gambling scene, in a move that infuriated gamers across the net.

DC Games

Playtech has since developed several top slots to replace the Marvel-themed games. While we assumed that their new DC Universe-themed games would eventually replace the Marvel slots, most of them contain new features.

If you want the same features as in the Marvel games, then the Age of Gods series are the slots you need to play. Iron Man 2’s gaming structure is duplicated in King of Olympus, whilst the Incredible Hulk and Fantastic Four structures are reminiscent of those found in Prince of Olympus and Furious Four. The Avengers will be replaced by the basic Age of Gods slot, whilst the Goddess of Wisdom slot will take on the features found in Elektra. So, you have a mere week to try your hand one last time at the Marvel progressive jackpots. After that, they are set to be pulled by Playtech, leaving players forced to play the Age of Gods series if they want a similar gameplay style.
