Entain, one of the largest, worldwide sports betting and gaming companies have been awarded the Advanced Safer Gambling Standard by Gamcare, after its ongoing efforts to maintain the highest standard in player protection and social responsibilities within the UK’s online and land-based enterprises.To date, the company is the largest to receive the advanced level three standard for its online activities and level two standard for land-based establishment activities.
Safer Gambling Standard
The Safer Gambling Standard is an independent quality standard that assesses gambling businesses and what measures they adopt in protecting their customers from gambling-related harm, and the safer gambling tools provided to its customers to help limit harmful gambling practices online.During the Safer Gambling Standard, Entain was assessed in 10 key areas and against many criteria and key areas including protecting customers who may be experiencing gambling-related harm, safer gambling practices, policies, procedures, and controls. The criteria also included interviews with Entain employees, website reviews, and visits to land-based and retail establishments.Head of Industry Standards at GamCare Dan Whitlam said, “We are encouraged to see Entain achieve the Advanced level of the Safer Gambling Standard for its online and land-based activities, meaning they have adopted a wide range of safer gambling measures that go beyond the social responsibility provisions of their gambling license.”
