Former England international and British football legend Stuart Pearce has joined up with Betfred and will appear in an advert for the company’s Euro 2016 headline offer.The promotion on offer is very suitable for Pearce to be the face of, as Betfred will be refunded all bets on England to win the Euros if they are knocked out in a penalty shootout.
Penalty history
England have not had the best history when it comes to penalty shootouts, currently at 9-1 to win the competition, the team has been knocked out of six world cups on penalties, including three times in the Euros, 1996, 2004, and in the last competition in 2012.Pearce famously missed a penalty in a shootout in the Italia 90 World Cup, before making up for it by scoring a penalty in England’s only victorious penalty shootout against Spain in in 1996.

The advert was the brainchild of Liverpool based Zut, and will feature on Betfred TV, social media, and Video on Demand.Creative Director of Zut, Matthew Thompson, said:“From the initial ideas stage through to post production it’s been great fun working with Stuart and the Betfred team.
