Jackpot Jones Review

It is getting tiring reviewing Nektan sites. The number of times we have pointed out that Nektan sites are, in terms of layout and usually in terms of content, basically identical, is genuinely depressing.

We don’t like being this repetitive, but it’s hard not to be when every new site released on a network is the slightest tweak away from a carbon copy of the one that came before it.

Nektan is not the only iGaming company guilty of releasing numerous average sites instead of putting effort into one or two excellent ones, but they may well be the worst offender.

It’s impossible at this point to count or remember all the sites that have been released by Nektan, but there’s some things you know about each one, the order of the thumbnails on the homepage, the game categories that will be listed, including the placement and font of them, the fact that apart from maybe two images to attempt to represent the theme of the site, the artwork and marketing images will be shared across all the sites, the list goes on.

Jackpot Jones was released in March of 2018, making it one of the newest additions to the Nektan family, and if you were expecting to be pleasantly surprised by this site, you have far too much faith in Nektan’s ability to not be lazy.

Design and theme

Jackpot Jones has a pirate theme, we assume, based on the presence of a gold cutlass in the site’s logo, a treasure maps in the banner, and two treasure chests in the background behind the thumbnails (that are, of course, the same size and in the same order as they are at all other Nektan sites).

To be honest, this is actually quite a lot of detail for a Nektan site, which normally just goes for a name and doesn’t always bother with even a logo, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a lacklustre attempt to bring a pirate theme to life, a theme that could have really been something special instead has had just a little more than the minimum done to create it, and that’s a shame.

Jackpot Jones is a site, in terms of design at least, that deserves a rather odd description. The site has an impressive design for a Nektan site, and a disappointing design for any other site, which says more about what’s come before than it does about Jackpot Jones itself.

Games

Now, this is where things start to get a little more interesting. To be fair, that is often the case with Nektan sites which, while sharing most of the same games, do tend to have very impressive collections.

Jackpot Jones takes this a little further by having more software developers providing the games than can be found at most of its Nektan brethren sites.

Titles coming from a list that includes, but is not limited to 1X2 Network, Aristocrat, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, Core Gaming, ELK Studios, Gamevy, IGT, Microgaming, Nektan, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, NYX, Realistic Games, SG Digital, SG Gaming, Thunderkick, and Williams Interactive means that variety is certainly available here.

Whether it’s slots or table and card games that you’re after, you’re likely to find something to take your fancy here.

So, does that make up for the design and the faults of the network in general? To be honest, that’s a case of personal preference, to some, the games on offer may be enough, while others may not enjoy the disappointing approach to creating sites that Nektan appears to be intent to carry on taking.
