At first glance, you might be fooled into thinking, not another Irish-themed slot packed with Leprechauns, rainbows, and pots of gold. Well of Wilds Megaways is a new title developed by Red Tiger Gaming and it was a breath of fresh air after loading the game.

About Well of Wilds Megaways

Played on 6 reels with up to 117,649 winning ways thanks to the Megaways mechanic, it’s available on desktop and mobile devices from 10p up to £10 per spin. It’s a highly volatile slot with an RTP of 96% and a top win of 10,497x the total bet.You will not be greeted by an in your face, giddy, flame-haired miniature man alluring you with pots of gold and colourful rainbows. Although there is a slight nod to the Irish genre, the backdrop to the slot is the bottom of a well with clovers and coins buried below the shimmering water. Symbols include low-value royals, a four-leaf clover, a horseshoe, a bag of gold coins, and a lucky rabbit’s foot. A gold pot filled with clovers acts as the wild.

Gameplay

Similar to many Megaways slots, the cascading reels are incorporated in Well of Wilds Megaways. Symbols involved in a winning combination fall away and new symbols fill the positions. This continues until no more winning combos occur.A Well of Wilds symbol may appear on the 4 middle reels only. If it lands it transforms 2 symbols into wilds. These symbols remain wild during cascades that follow. For example, if a Q symbol transforms into a wild all other instances it appears will also be wild.Players will need 3 or more scatter to activate 9 free spins. Each scatter landing thereafter awards another 3 spins, there are up to 18 free spins on offer in this feature. You start the free spins with an initial multiplier of 1x. Each cascaded during the free spins sees the multiplier increase by 1x, this is unlimited.Look out for lucky coins landing on the middle reels, collecting 5 triggers the Lucky Wishes Modifier. Now you’ll receive either 1 or a combination of the following:During the feature up to 3 symbols could transform into wildsThe win multiplier doublesBetween 3-6, free spins added to the tally

Verdict

If you are not a fan of Irish-themed slot’s then Well of Wilds Megaways will appeal to you. It does have a slight nod to the Irish, but Red Tiger has avoided the Irish overkill and opted for a wishing well with a few Irish-inspired items within the symbols. Beautifully designed, the features are enough to create pretty decent rewards, especially the coins, where a combination of wilds, multipliers, and free spins could prove very lucrative.
