Playtech’s Marvel slots just aren’t done yet

Playtech

You may have noticed that many top online casinos are still offering Marvel themed progressive jackpot slots. These Playtech developed slot machine games were supposed to be discontinued on New Year’s Eve, and yet Playtech has not officially removed from their online casinos. Could the move be reversed?

Series of slots

According to many respectable sources, Disney’s purchase of the Marvel franchise would lead the online slots being taken down, since Disney has long insisted that none of their material can be used for gambling purposes. As a direct result of this, Playtech launched their new Age of Gods series of progressive jackpot slots, and followed them up by snatching the DC license from under Microgaming’s nose, to developer a range of DC superhero themed progressives. These were thought to be the Marvel themed slots’ replacements. This has not yet happened, leading many to believe that the discontinuation of the Marvel themed slots may yet be some way off, or cancelled altogether.

Multiple Promotions

Many online casinos aren’t taking any chances, and are offering multiple promotions right now which focus on those slots. Could this be the showstopper – one final promotion before the games come to an end?

New Themed Slot

In other Playtech news, the online casino software developer has been busying themselves preparing a brand-new DC superhero themed slots, based on the Man of Steel movie, which starred Henry Cavill (of The Tudors) as Clark Kent. The new slot is set to be released later in the month, and little else is known about the game at this moment in time. Amaya Gaming recently released a general Superman themed slot, whilst Playtech also developed a slot, with both based on the comic book version of the hero. The new DC licensed slot by Playtech is certainly set to be based on the movie adaption though.
