Bored of blackjack? Fed up with poker? Then it sounds like you could do with a few rounds of Stravaganza – a fun, unique card game available at selected Playtech casino sites. With Stravaganza, the aim is to accumulate more points than the dealer – do this, and you could rack up some big rewards.

About Stravaganza

Stravaganza is a polarising game from software giant Playtech. Some will love it as a welcome break from run-of-the-mill card games, while others will hate it because it’s so different.

How to Play Stravaganza

The aim is to have the sum of your three cards higher than the dealer’s three cards. You start the game by making your initial wager, which can be as low as 5p and as high as £100. You are dealt two cards face up, and the dealer is dealt three face down. Once you receive your cards, you must decide whether to continue. Click Play On to continue, so your ante wager will be doubled, and you’ll get another card. Your cards will then go up against the dealer’s, and the player with the highest sum wins. All face cards count as 10, and aces count as one. You might get back half or all of your ante-bet if your first cards add up to less than 9. You can win big with hands similar to poker, three face cards, or three of a kind.

Overall

Most casino card games have basic graphics and audio, but Stravaganza’s design is top-notch. Chances are, you’ve not played this game before. You’ll find detailed instructions in the Help section.

Matthew Kennedy
Co-founder & Technical Director at Play Cash Games

Matthew Kennedy co-founded Take Marketing Limited in 2008 alongside Becky Mosley and has worked in the UK online gambling industry ever since. He runs the technical side of the operation, building and maintaining the platforms that power Play Cash Games and the wider Take Marketing portfolio.

Matt's role is hands-on. He writes the code behind the offer feeds, the comparison tools readers use, and the back-office systems that keep every casino listing accurate and current. If you have used a feature on this site, the chances are he built it. He is also responsible for site performance, mobile usability, and the technical SEO that lets a small independent comparison site compete with much larger publishers.

Over 17 years in the industry, Matt has worked directly with affiliate platforms, casino operators, and software providers. He has seen the market move from desktop Flash slots to mobile-first HTML5, lived through every iteration of UK Gambling Commission rules, and built the systems that keep our coverage compliant as regulation evolves. He has a particular interest in responsible gambling tooling and player-fund safety — the parts of the industry most people do not see but that matter most.

Matt is a Companies House registered director (Take Marketing Limited, company no. 07619813) and is based in Lincolnshire, England.
