Baccarat is a game that developers at first struggled to adapt for the online gaming market. While in land-based casinos the game was exciting and interactive, much of that was lost in translation online. However, the introduction of Live Dealer Baccarat in online casinos has led to a resurgence in the game’s popularity and it is now one of the most played online casino games.
How does it work?
During the game a live video feed is streamed to players so they can see the cards being dealt by a real live dealer. You can chat to the dealer and other players while remaining anonymous and sitting in the comfort of your own home.
Playing the game
There are different variations of Live Dealer Baccarat available but most are based around the Punto Banco (Player Banker). This means you’ll only be betting against the casino. You’ll be dealt two cards to two different hands. You may also be dealt a third card if your total lands between 0 and 5. The value of the hands are then added and compared to determine the winner. You can bet on your own hand, the banker’s hand or a tie. All online casinos have their own rules so we’d always recommend familiarising yourself with them before you start playing.
Scoring
Each card is allocated a score with two-nine being worth their numerical value, 10, Jack, Queen and King being worth zero and the Ace being worth one. The score of each hand is a single figure based on the number on the right hand side of the number. So, for example, if your cards added to a total of 15 then your final score would be five. The highest score any hand can achieve is nine.If you are new to Baccarat then a live dealer version may be perfect for you. Not only do you get to play in private, without swarms of people looking over your shoulder, you can also place much lower bets than you would at a land-based casino. However, the interactive nature of the game means you don’t lose any of the excitement and atmosphere of playing in real life.
