Xtip Review

Big ‘X’, big ‘T’, little ‘i’, big ‘P’, it’s an odd way to go about creating a catchy name for an online casino site, but it makes you notice it, that’s for sure.

Licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and therefore available to UK based players, XTiP is, before anything else, a sports betting site, with various betting options revolving around a range of sports from across the globe.

However, like the majority of sports betting sites, after a while, XTiP started to notice that there was a lot of business over in the online casino industry, and it fancied itself a bit of that.

As a result, XTiP now offers a casino that is attached to its sports betting site, but is designed to act as a separate entity with its own personality, in order to appeal to online casino players, even if they have no interest in sports betting.

This isn’t a new move, nor is it one that has been successful every time a sports betting site have done it, so XTiP definitely sent itself a challenge, but with five years’ experience under its belt already, this is a site that seems to have done everything right so far.

The big question, however, is as the industry continues to get more competitive, and there are more sites fighting for less spaces on the ladder, can XTiP maintain, or even improve its position?

Design and theme

Perhaps the biggest problem XTiP Casino has is within its design, the style of sports betting sites is very different of that of online casinos, and in attempting to maintain brand recognition, XTiP has failed to do enough to make its casino feel different.

The logo saying “XTiP Sportsbetting” certainly doesn’t help, but it’s the design in general that doesn’t feel like enough.

There’s many thumbnails on the homepage, so games are easy to access, in fact, navigation is very simple in general, especially with the Live Casino options being separate from the casino options.

Navigation is not even close enough to make up for the shortcoming that this online casino has, from an aesthetic perspective at least.

As a casino, XTiP still feels entirely like a sports betting site, and unless you’re someone who wants a quick spin on a slot before you go back to sports betting, that’s unlikely to appeal to you too much.

Games

The collection of games here suffers from the same issue, it simply does not feel like any level of effort was actually put into creating a legitimate online casino here, instead some games were just thrown on the sports betting site template.

A disappointing number of games from a disappointing number of software developers, mainly just NetEnt really, there’s nothing about this casino that makes it even remotely competitive.

NetEnt are a fantastic software provider, the best around in the minds of many, but when there’s other sites that offer titles from 20 or more other developers on top of NetEnt games, the selection at XTiP just feels a little tragic.

It should (and indeed must) be pointed out that XTiP is an excellent sports betting site, the options are varied, the design is sophisticated, sleek, and easy to navigate, customer service is excellent, there’s little for sports betting fans to complain about.

If just one modicum of the energy and planning that was put into the sports betting site had been used when creating XTiP Casino, there’s no doubt we’d be talking about the site much more favourably.

However, that didn’t happen, and instead what you get here is an excellent sports betting site, with an awful attempt at an online casino stuck to the side of it.
