Casino GB Review

Arriving on the scene in March of 2018 to minimal fanfare, Casino GB hasn’t exactly been one of the online casinos that has set the world on fire this year, but some sites are slow burners, and a lack of instant success does not always mean long term problems.

With the online casino industry being as competitive as it is, it certainly isn’t easy to get your nose out in front, especially if you’re working from behind a little.

However, Casino GB is brought to us by ProgressPlay, and that is often a good sign, so the game definitely isn’t over yet.

Casino GB is one of a surprising number of sites that choose to take Great Britain as its theme, UK facing sites that seem to have no aspirations to venture further afield, so pick a theme that while popular in the country it’s based on, is likely to make any players from other countries feel unwelcome if the site ever tries to stretch its reach out across Europe and beyond.

The other issue here is, as there’s a decent number of sites with this concept already, how is Casino GB going to stand out from the pack?

Design and theme

This is a site that seems to have a strong understanding of the necessity to do something different from the London landmark heavy designs of similar sites, and to its credit, Casino GB does that, but what it chooses to replace it with is frankly bewildering.

There are no London landmarks here, but mainly because there is basically nothing in the design to bring the concept to life at all.

Predictable images of awkward models in lavish casino settings and a black and red colour scheme fill almost the entire site, with the only red and blue involved anywhere being in the G and the B of the site’s title.

It’s nice to see a site trying to do something else, but it would have been much preferred to see something that actually focused on the theme in some way.

Navigation is simple enough, because this is a ProgressPlay site and as much as the rest of the design may suggest others, this is an operator who know what they’re doing when it comes to creating ease of use within their online casinos.

Past that though, everything is fairly unimpressive here, a basic, derivative design, and no effort at all made to match the site’s title with its look, a disappointment all in all.

Games

It would take a lot for the content at Casino GB to make up for the lacklustre design and, to credit, it doesn’t do a bad job.

Whether it’s enough is a different matter, but titles from the likes of 1X2 Network, Betdigital, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, ELK Studios, Extreme Live Gaming, Gamevy, Genesis Gaming, Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, SG Digital, SG Gaming, and Thunderkick do a solid job of giving players enough to do.

This impressive list of well-known and up and coming developers guarantees variety in style, tone, concept, and gameplay so there’s something to suit everyone here.

As usual, slot games are the most present option, with a huge collection of new and old slots, and a fair few progressive jackpots thrown in.

Add on the impressive array of table and card games, as well as a host of live casino options, and you’re dealing with an impressive portfolio of games here.

Unfortunately, it’s a portfolio that is outdone by may more established sites that look better than this one, meaning it’s unlikely that Casino GB will experience too much success.
